She built up Droopy and Browns, a unique family business, designing, manufacturing and retailing beautifully-made clothes. Yet she avoided the mainstream fashion industry because, like the boy in the fairy tale who knew the emperor was naked, what she saw through the hype was not a pretty sight. (Guardian Nov 2000). 

Renowned for producing exquisitely cut, elegant clothing, Droopy & Browns is a highly sought after and collectible label - there is even an appreciation society.
